Ingredients are up!

Terry has made her choice!

This is what you have to work with:

* Liver (and I'm going to specify calves' liver to keep things interesting)
* Cheese
* Oregano
* Chestnuts

Let the game begin!

I look forward to see what you will post on your blogs by Tuesday teh 10th.

Please e-mail your submissions to paperchef@gmail.com for the round-up.

Have fun!

Is anyone UP for this challenge. I've have a few ideas, but still don't know ..I'm having company sunday and don't want to cook any liver here until then. When I see the ingredients, it's a true challenge for me.

I think I will have to have a go, however I hate liver. But I must say that Terry made a good job in making this into a real challenge.

I look forward to see what you come up with.

Oh drat, liver. I am so NOT up to this challenge (just like I wasn't up to the offal challenge). And I don't even WANT to be up to it - I don't feel the slightest bit of shame wanting to avoid liver. Sigh. Maybe I'm more of a picky eater than I realized...

I love liver, but when I see it in the same sentence with cheese, that loves disappears. What if we can't find chestnuts?

Angela if you can't find chestnuts, you are allowed to substitute it. My choice would be to use some other nuts, or try to find chestnut puree on can.

I'm able to find both fresh and packaged whole steamed chestnuts right now in California. I've lived in 10 other states and in Europe, and was always able to find chestnuts in the winter. (If you have a Trader Joes near you, they have steamed whole chestnuts that are a reasonable substitute for fresh, and much better than the canned ones).

I purposely didn't specify the kind of cheese you could use, and I can think of more than one kind that would go nicely with the other ingredients. Remember, you don't have to use ONLY the four ingredients - you can inlcude others as long as the four are used.

Please give it some thought and I'm sure you can come up with something tasty!

Oh there are loads of things to do with these ingredients, I think Terry has come up with an interesting challenge! as to the chestnuts, here I can find chestnuts in various forms when they are out of season, dried, ground to flour and as cream and there are certainly more around if I started a research.

This is very interesting (and I like liver), but I'm going to pass this time as my partner HATES liver - not to mention the difficulty of getting calf's liver here. I'll be looking forward to seeing everyone's entries and will be back next month. :)
